HaemAnalytica was created, as a University of Reading spin-out to develop TRIPLEcheck, a test designed to measure how each individual responds to drugs such as aspirin following a heart attack. Treatment is often given in a 'one size fits all' approach, but patients respond differently to treatment and use of blood thinners, including aspirin, can lead to internal bleeding. TRIPLEcheck can identify individuals who are likely to benefit from blood thinners, and those who are more at risk of bleeding.
The Sunday Times published an article about TRIPLEcheck, and an ongoing BHF funded clinical trial involving 400 heart attack patients in collaboration with the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
